The story that brought to the creation of Mangibene, through three generations, starts in 1939.
At that time Bernardo Stagnoli and his wife, Violante Manni, come to Verona. Their origins are from Bagolino, a little country near the town of Brescia, well-known for the delicious cheese Bagòss, an exclusive production and a secular story, abiding by the old working proceedings; Bernardo and Violante settle in Verona and open one of the first food specialties shop, equipped with a wood-burning oven for bread and sweets. Later also their three sons decide to go on this way, they create new sales activities in this sector and they especially grow rich with Attilio’s contribution, Claudia’s husband, one of the two Stagnoli daughters: Attilio Berardi’s origins from Abruzzo, keep the inheritance of the mediterranean middle south flavours, now conveyed to the present generation, Attilio and Claudia’s son and Bernardo and Violante’s nephew: Alessandro Berardi, who has already been sales manager of little and medium factories in the food sector, and at present he is the maker of Mangibene.
Alessandro couples the experience acquired in the sector with the skill in cooking, as cook and expert who chooses the ingredients and gastronomic combinations with attention and passion. You can find such personal inclination also in the selection of the products “Mangibene”, as guarantee of quality and seriousness, as carrying on of a consolidated family tradition. The criteria of Mangibene food choices privilege the research of simplicity and handicraft in the production, exclusive qualifications of the little factories, that have one unic and particular objective: “the research of the quality” for the customer’s satisfaction. Alessandro verifies personally, therefore he is sure he is able to offer his customers a natural food selection.

When making purchases on the site, you can choose any of the currencies available - regardless of the language selected - using the pull-down menu in the lower right-hand corner of the home page.
Credit card payments.
mangibene.it accepts the following credit cards:
Visa - MasterCard - Diners Club International - American Express - Carta Aura.
For all credit card payments your account will only be debited upon dispatch of the goods.
Credit card payments are completely safe as will be explained below.

If you wish to pay using an alternative payment method, orders will be started following Credit Transfer and
Postal Orders.
If you choose these methods, goods will only be dispatched after mangibene.it has received - via fax or e-mail - a copy of the payment order issued by the Bank or Post Office concerned.
If confirmation of payment is not received within three days of the order reception date, the order will be considered cancelled.
Safety

In order to guarantee the safety of transmission of confidential information (such as credit card numbers) Mangibene.it uses the most well-known protocol for safe transmission of data: the Secure Socket Layer (SSL).
The use of SSL technology ensures that confidential information sent on-line is encrypted - codified using a complex mathematical algorithm developed by VeriSign - which guarantees that it cannot be intercepted by unauthorised parties.
The most recent versions of Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator are fully compatible with the SSL technology and allow users to send encrypted data to the SSL safe servers.
How can you know whether a server is safe?
When sending and receiving data to and from an SSL safe server your browser will usually give you a specific message:
- When using Internet Explorer you will see a padlock icon in the bottom right corner that will allow you to accede to information on the SSL certificate (certifying authority, date of release, expiry date...). Either click directly on the padlock or select File > Properties then click on the Certificate button. 
- When using Netscape Navigator you will see a padlock icon in the bottom left corner.
How does Mangibene.it use the SSL safe server?
mangibene.it uses the SSL safe server for transmission of credit card data. After having selected payment by credit card you go to a page where you insert your data which can then be sent to the SSL safe server.
This page is contained in the computer of our affiliated bank. mangibene.it does not record your credit card details which will only be used by the bank to authorise the debit by mangibene.it. This procedure ensures that your credit card number cannot even be visualised by the mangibene.it staff.

Protection of privacy

At the end of 1996, following a European directive on privacy, Italy approved a law (675/96) for the protection of personal information, establishing the guidelines to be followed when collecting and using such data..
Q&Q "Gruppo Mangibene" firmly believes in the principles that inspired the drawing-up of this law because we are convinced that everyone's privacy must be fully respected. We are also very particular about our customers' personal information and follow strict rules when processing such data. In accordance with Article 10 of the above-mentioned law, our customers' personal information must be stored in special files allowing us to contact them if necessary. Data processing is carried out by computer and manually using special systems guaranteeing maximum safety and privacy and involving the correct application of all operations described in Article 1, comma 2, letter b) of the above-mentioned law. Furthermore, such data may not be communicated to third parties nor diffused or transferred abroad.
The company authorised to process such data is Q&Q "Gruppo Mangibene", registered office in Via B. Barbarani, 5/C, San Zeno di Mozzecane (Verona) Italy. We are directly responsible for use of data and customers may exercise all rights provided for under Article 13 of the Italian Privacy Law , requesting confirmation of the existence of the data and by asking to see, update, add or cancel information.

Our company procedure complies with the Italian Legislative Decree 22 May 1999 n. 185 and with the European Union Directive 97/7/CE with regard to consumer protection in distance sales: the consumer has the right to return the goods and be refunded, without facing any penalties and without specifying the motive for cancellation, within 10 working days from receipt of the goods purchased.
How to return goods
When returning goods, you are required to follow the steps described below:
1) Communicate your intention to cancel (either complete or part order) stating exactly which goods you intend to return either by registered post to the following address: Q&Q Gruppo Mangibene, Via B. Barbarani, 5/C, San Zeno di Mozzecane (Verona) Italy by fax to the following number: 0039-045-7930286; or by e-mail to info@mangibene.it. Although you are not obliged to supply a motive, a brief explanation why you intend to return the goods in question would allow us to improve our service and evaluate eventual errors with regard to choice of products or mode of transport..
2) The notice of cancellation must be communicated in writing within 8 days of receiving the goods:

3) The goods purchased and delivered must be returned, unused and in the original packaging, at the customer's expense, within 10 working days from the receipt of the said goods. Goods to be returned and food products, in particular - with the exception of the foods exempt from return listed in Point 6 - must still be sealed in the original packing and must have been stored in the correct conditions to ensure that their safety standards, organoleptic qualities and appearance are unchanged.
4) We will refund the unsatisfied client the amount paid for the goods being returned, within 30 days of receipt of the communication and following receipt of the said goods..
5) For obvious reasons relating to food hygiene, storage, perishability, and consumer health the following food products may not be returned: PERISHABLES, FRESH FOODS, CURED MEATS, ALL MEATS WHATEVER THE TYPE OR PROCESSING USED, CHEESES, DAIRY PRODUCTS, FRUIT, VEGETABLES, regardless of whether vacuum-packed or in a modified atmosphere.
While the law is obviously the law, in the interest of customer relations we like to keep things simple. So should you wish to return goods why not send an e-mail to our address: info@mangibene.it. One of our operators will get in touch by phone or e-mail to outline the steps to take for the replacement of the goods in question and/or an immediate refund. Should it prove impossible to reach a mutually satisfying conclusion, consumers may obviously avail themselves of their statutory rights.

Reserving items

The hardest to find products are those usually those only available for a limited period of the year. They are exclusively made, processed and aged for our customers.
That's why mangibene.it lets you reserve them and order them when they become available.
Once the product becomes available you can decide to purchase it.
The reservation page allows you to check the status of the reserved product and to order it should it have become available.
As soon as a reserved item becomes available we will send you an e-mail or text message (provided you have supplied your cell phone number in your personal data sheet).
Unchanged prices: the list price of the item for which you have made a part payment will remain unchanged.
Return of part payment: should a product no longer become available for reasons beyond our control, your part payment will be returned to you in full.
Possibility of waiver: you are free to decide not to purchase the product once its availability has been confirmed, but you will lose your reservation payment.

mangibene.it has an agreement with three couriers. For each consignment we will choose the most suitable and cheapest of the three for you.
FedEx
Extra-fast FedEx dispatch is used for perishable products. Orders containing highly perishable items (some types of cured meat, soft cheeses, etc) will be sent to you as swiftly as possible to ensure that they arrive in perfect condition: customers receive their goods within 48 hours of consignment to the courier. Orders to Extra-European CEE countries and Intercontinental countries are also handled by FedEx.
SDA and Euroxpress
The swift SDA and Euroxpress dispatch service delivers goods to the recipient in 24/48 hours both in Italy and Europe CEE. Costs are low and safety is guaranteed.
FERCAM
We use FERCAM for orders weighing over 30 kg that do not contain perishable goods. Orders are delivered within 48/72 hours both in Italy and in Europe. Costs are low and safety is guaranteed.
